How much does he charge for installing the stripe kit?
His price was 350.00$ for the job (including the kit). Should have known he was too cheap , lesson learned here folks.

Sue his business for the damage, take your car to a ford dealership and get a quote on the repair, use the check to get the stripes you want painted on by a professional establishment.

Why do people attempt to do things to these cars that they have absolutely no experience in doing??

I'd be as mad as can be. It sucks to take care of something, only to have someone come along and jack it up because he or she assures you they can do the job. [:@]

Sory to hear of the problem. Get several quotes for a repaint and give the bill to the installer to get the difference on the cost to repaint. Its not a hard repaint and the car has clearcoat on it so it should be easy for any experienced painter as the color has not faded and its a factory color. If he gives you crap just sue him for the difference. I mean how much experience does an 18 yr old have with anything in life? JMO and bash all you want but there is something to be said for experience which only comes with age and apparently he has little! J

Wow... this is why you should goto a respected vinyl shop or installer in the area. A business is preferred since they can cover crap like this. This sounds like one of those "things" that happens. However, he probably took them off too aggressively and probably at a wrong angle because right inside where the paint meets the window liner, if he cut ONTO your car, this could very easily happen. This is why you almost NEVER cut on a car. I say almost never, because if you have a bit of skill, you can get away with it without even TOUCHING the paint under the vinyl with the knife.

Best of luck to you. I feel for you

Like they say, you get what you pay for. Why do people keep trying to cheap their way into a major project? Not bashing you, most of us, including myself, have made a mistake (or two)in judgement like this. Live and learn.

But, as long as you're going to have to repaint, might as well get the stripes painted on too - painted stripes look much better anyway.
