no, in fact doing it the way jason said will probably not damage it at all... I just like to do things a certain way and take extra pre-cautions.. you are fine.

and welcome to the forum

One final question for tonight. Oh, and let me add that I do not have my manual yet. The dealership had to order me one, but when I receive it I plan on reading every page. Anyway, I am curious what the light is on the dash that blinks. It looks like a lock over the car and it blinks red when the car is off, any ideas?
thanks

I aswell use the parking brake even when im on level ground, not OD all the way up but just alittle so the car dont rock back and forth after you put it into park, so the car dont rest on the tranny, but if i was on a hill or slope then i would use alittle more force when applying the parking brake.

I am guessing it has something to do with the alarm and it not being activated but does that take up any battery life? (the continuous blinking light?)
thanks

A few nights ago, someone posted a different response about the parking brake. He said auto's should never use the parking brake because it causes uneven cooling to the rotors and pads. This could eventually warp the rotors. any response to that?

I personally follow what Burnsy described. I don't like the feeling of relying on my gears to hold my car stationary. I didn't know about the pin...that was informative, thanks!

Sacrelli, that blinking light on under the tach just lets you know the doors are unlocked. It goes away when you lock your doors.

I do not think it has to do with it being locked. The doors are locked but it continues to blink. The alarm would make sense because my car does not have one. I am just curious since the light will blink all night will that ruin the battery? Is this a problem?
thanks

I think it is the immobiliser. After doing some searching this is what it appears to be. It appears to be normal.
thanks again
