RE: Is it possible to order 3.55 gears?
Juntech, 3.55 is the best gear for all around driving. But, if you want a little more fun then yes 3.73 and 4.10 are also made by Ford.
3.55 though will give you nice acceleration and a low RPM 80mph cruising speed. The best about 3.55 is the gearing is just short enough to let you hit 60mph at the top of 2nd gear. That means if you're doing a little spirited driving then it only takes 1 shift before you get to 60mph.
3.73 or 4.10 will you mean you may have to shift to 3rd to hit 60mph. So although the acceleration is faster, you have to weigh in the fact that you might be shifting an extra time to reach 60mph. Shifting takes time.

You can not get a 3.55 on a Deluxe in 2008!
The order system wont take the order.
To the best of my knowledge the only way around this is through the fleet sales department.
Their are also some other interesting options this way like Driver Ornamentation Pkg which is the leather wheel and gear shift **** without any type of interior upgrade pkg.
Considering a Tune is a must on these carsIwould not pay $300 for the gear option. You can getthe"A" Gears for$150 (if you know where to look) + $125 for a "weekend" install by the local "rear axle tech"at a Ford Dealer here. Then you have whatever gears you want. For a strictly street car 3.73's are ideal. For a track rat 4.10 or 4.30 (Motives only, Ford doesnt make 4.30's).
