Default 18X9 DD Bullitt rims and TPMS

Hello Everyone. We put our rims and tires package that we purchased from americanmuscle.com from our 06 GT to our 08 GT/CS. I ended up getting some sensors. I purchased the bands from americanmuscle.com. I have to shorten this up a little. 25000 miles on the Sumitomo's and it's time for new tires. I bought GoodYear Eagle F1 AS 255/45-18. I bring the new tires, sensors, and bands to the GoodYear store for install. They call me a little while ago to explain that the bands will not work on these rims because of the way the inside of it is made. It goes into almost a "V". If they go to tighten down the band, the 3M tape will pull away and they will slide down to the lower angle causing it to remain loose. I go over there so they can show me exactly what they are talking about. In theory, they are correct, IMHO. Did/does anyone else have this issue, or am I dealing with a tech that cannot install them? Of course I have them install the new tires anyway and balance. VERY SWEET ride!!! Americnmuscle says that I should bring it somewhere else, pay more money, and have someone else do it. Any thoughts?
