Default Wheel Retainers..

I have seen many posts saying that these need to be removed before aftermarket wheels are put on (assuming your car is one that comes with them..)

So how exactly do I get mine off?

Do I just pry with a screwdriver or is there a secret technique? (please no wiseass remarks until I actually get the real answer..lol)

Thanks!

Pry them off with needlenose or if you can just cut them off but just dont damage the lug threads. They are only there to keep the rotors on during assembly.

You dont even have to take them off, but they have been known to cause a vibration on lower profile tire setups, so if you can remove them, it will only benefit you. It wont harm anything. See, when there are no calipers on the car during assembly, the rotors are just floating there. They need to suspend them on so they wont fall off on the assembly line and its too much work for them to take it off[&:]so they leave them on so we'll have something to discuss on the forums. Thanks Ford.
