I think I'm gonna do the same thing, CalSpec.

thewarmachine,

So you're going to run it with the off road pipes for awhile and then get high flow cats later? With the o/r pipes we're going to get that raw fuel smell so reminiscent ofthe oldmuscle cars. I guess if we own retro looking cars we might as well smell retro. LOL

No, I'm going to put in some high-flow cats from Pypes. I ordered them from Jegs, but they won't ship until May 6th. I'm strongly considering BBK shorty headers too, but I think I've spent enough money for this month.

Also, in case anyone's wondering, I bought my prochamber from www.speedconcepts.net for $366, but shipping was about $42, so it came out to $408.....still cheaper than any other place!!!

I didn't notice much of a smell when I had the Pypes ORH, but then again,...I only had it on the car for about 20 hours. Had to sell it because I couldn't stand the trumpeting.

You got the CVM10K cats, correct? They sell them in a pair. I might get mine from Latemodelrestoration.com. They're $174.95/pair.

I paid $423.72 for my O/R Prochamber. That's with tax & shipping. I live in the same state as SpeedConcepts so I gotta pay the tax. They're down south and I'm up north. Should take only 2-3 business days on ground shipping to get them.

Hmmm...strange. You should've been able to smell the exhaust right away without the cats. Guess these modern cars are pretty clean burning when compared to cars running carbs from the old days.

I probably did smell something, but assumed it was the coating inside the pipes burning off. It wasn't bad. I mean...it is a car, so it should have a smell, right?

Well...I'll know soon enough how it smells when I install my O/R Prochamber. I should get it this Friday and install it over the weekend. I'll make sure and take some videos/sound clips.

Yeah, the O/R will smell quite a bit different. I kind of like the smell of my car running, personally. Let's me know I'm still driving a machine. And all the greenpeace folks please don't give me **** because I'm the least of the environments problems.

You're correct though about the cleaner combustion. Even with the off-road setup I get VERY little residue on the tips. A little unburnt fuel residue thats it.
