You forgot to mention Pro5.0 which is better than either Hurst or the Tri-ax IMO. But the MGW shifter is by far and I mean by FAR a better choice if your comparing shifters. I know this for a fact because I was at the MGW facility and got a tour. He showed me all of the shifters taken apart and just from the materials alone you can tell that MGW does a much better job in construction and quality of materials used. Every component of MGW is CNC machined. The others all seemed like they were made in china and stamped through a production line. No comparison. It's like comparing a mustang to a Ferrari that's how much diffrence in quality in the materials alone. I've had friends with the Tri-ax, hurst and pro 5.0 and the only one that didn't switch was the pro 5.0 guy that felt pretty good to me as well. If you want the Rolls Royce ofShifters you need look no further. MGW has more adjustibility than the other shifters and has NVH suppressors to dampen any type of sound which makes a big diffrence in my book. No feedback what so ever. If I were looking to save a few bucks and didnt' mind settling for something else then I would get the Pro 5.0 shifter would be my second choice.

I ended up getting the Hurst. I know the MGW is clearly a higher quality piece, however with the driving I do, I dont see how any choice is not better than stock, but when you add teh ball to the MGW its 360 bucks!! Thats a LOT of cabbage for a shifter! THe hurst is 180 at most shops so at almost twice the price the MGW really better be the cats ***! I actually PREFER the notchy feel of the Hurst in my last 3 mustangs. I had one of the old black short throws in my 85 stang and I absolutely loved it. I figure if I change my mind I can always toss the thing on ebay and get 90 percent of my cash back on the thing and hten go the MGW route.....hopefully they will have come down a bit by then. I am not saying that it isnt worth the extra cash, as you want the best, you should have to pay for it if you want the best, but I just couldnt justify almost twice the price for something I am just driving on the street. Plus I like hte look of the Hurst better...its old school just like me!! LOL

MGW or Hurst. I still am unsure as to which one I'm going to get.

No one is denying the quality of the mgw. It def is better quality/craftsmanship. The thing that really comes into play is how much that's worth to you. The MGW is very expensive while the Hurst is only 180 and looks better (IMO). As far as quality the hurst is as good as the stock one and who would expect an OE peice to break. It's also got the big throw reduction-that's the whole point of it. So yea the MGW is better but the Hurst is cheaper, has a shorter throw, OE quality and a price of at least 100 cheaper. I don't know if it's true but above it says mgw w/ the ball is $360? That's just ridiculous.

A lot of us will only use the best products in our car and rightfully so. If you can stand to put something of lower quality in your car than props to you. Looks are subjective so there's no point in that. I think the MGW looks better but that doesn't make my opinion right or wrong. OEM pieces are not that strong, they really aren't meant to be beaten on and see track use. How much reduction does the Hurst give? The MGW is adjustable to suit whatever you want and up to 50%. Now the fact that it's adjustable is pretty damn awesome. Yes, with a ball the MGW is $360 and it was worth every penny to me. If you end up ordering a MGW, the look on your face when you open the pkg is going to say it all. You'll understand once you open the pkg ...

Speaking of the MGW looking better and all. I have an MGW handle with "new" black cue ball/MGW logo for sale. After using the cue ball type for awhile I decided that I wanted a nice grippy leather wrapped **** and put a MOMO on the regular handle.

It's in perfect condition. Black ball with chrome (as opposed to brushed) upper handle. It' looked KILLER in the car. $50+shipping wherever you want. I know this should be in classifieds but I figured sinceI had everyone's attention...

The MGW is more expensive but very nice. I'm very happy with it.
