Default HELP - Roush Hood Scoop Removal Question

Hey everyone - assome of you with vinyl stripes and a hood scoop may have experienced already, I've got that lovely vinyl stripe creasing/wrinkling issue under my Roush hood scoop. I know that Rob at Baltimore Street Mods has created a new set of 10" stripes that incorporate a cutout for the Roush scoop, so I'm contemplating getting those and redoing my hood.

My question is - has anyone taken off their Roush scoop and replaced it? Any tips, advice, problems, etc?? I'm assuming removal may not be all that bad since the 3M tape is pretty much all sitting on top of the existing vinyl stripes and not the hood paint itself, but just wondering if there were any problems at all with doing that.

Thanks in advance!!

In addition to the 3M tape, it should be secured with 6 bolts also. You will have to remove the liner of the underneath side of the hood to get to the nuts. Once you remove them, you should be able to pop it up loose from the tape. The tape is about 1/4 thick so should not be a big problem. There should be 3 pieces of tape.... one across the back and one down each side.

Thanks ddiehl. I was more concerned about the 3M tape and removing the hood scoop without damaging it while trying to pry it loose from the tape. The rest should be cake and just a matter or unscrewing the screws and liner; it was the 3M tape that had me worried.

By any chance, do you or anyone out there have a PDF copy of the installation instructions for the scoop? Mine were tossed out by the body shop when they installed it.

Thanks!

No, sorry I don't. I only had the hard copy of the installation instructions. After I put mine on I wanted to take it back off and work to bottom edge to make a better fit to the hood. Of couse it had not been on but a day but after removing the nuts from the bolts, it popped right up when I applied a little force to it and I re-installed it using the same tape. May be a different case if it's been on a while.
