I drive my Durango like a human. The Mustang is another story. It sees 5900
everytime I drive it..(5900 is where Bama tunes shift at). I've manually shifted it
at 6400-6500..and I liked it. So I had Doug email me a new tune that shifts at 6400.
Haven't loaded it yet...waiting for track day.

Just do your maintenance, she'll be just fine.Just don't drive it like Steve McQueen everyday.

I actually set my rev limit to 5700 but I'll take it up there and peg it off with a power shift maybe once a week. I guess it depends on what I end up next to at a red light... blasted an Aurora the other day, lmao, I could barely hear him revving but he did it so I answered, kinda escalated from there, lol...

As long as you take care of the maintenance, you'll be good...

5,500,000 rpm? That must be some kind of a record... the pistons must be going faster than the speed of light.

I drive my 07 GT/CS like a little old lady 100 percent of the time. I've never lit it up, and have never been over 4 or 4.5k rpm.

How do you never go above 4500rpms? This car doesnt feel like it makes any power until 3500rpms, and then it starts to pull like a muscle car should. If it hurt the car to go above 4500rpms, they would set the rev limiter there.

What can I say, I'm an old guy =)

Seriously though, we bought the car to show and in rememberance of my wifes father who had a 68 GT/CS. It lives in storage most of the time and only gets maybe a couple thousand miles put on it a year. Lots of people buy Mustangs to drive the heck out of them, I'm just no one of them =P
