Roush Short Throw Shifter, installed
I picked my car up from the mech today.. My goodness.. The response is amazing.. Its tighter than the stock, but my goodness.. This shifts are so much closer together.. When i get used to it, i'm sure it will get smoother as well.. You shift and BOOM, your there.. The shift time is cut IN HALF.. Amazing.. Even though i'm still the casual driver, its deff worth the money and to upgrade it.. This is my first experience with an aftermarket shifter.. I'm very satisfied.. Thanks folks for talking me into upgrading that..
I have the same shifter and, it did take a little getting used to but, before long it'll feel natural to you.
The only drawback to this shifter is that when I get into some traffic and the car gets some heat in her the stick doesn't spring back to center when I put it in neutral like it does any other time.
My guess is it's because the body of the shifter is aluminum. When metal gets hot it expands and aluminum will expand more than steel. So when the shifter body expands it puts more pressure on the stick. I'm hoping that it'll wear down some over time and stop doing that because it makes shifting gears much easier than the stock shifter.
Oh yea, did you get the long shift arm? A long arm will give you more leverage to really bang the gears. [sm=badbadbad.gif]
