Octane boosters do more harm than good. A whole can may up your octane 1 point, but definitely will cause problems. To keep your car running best, you'll have to suffer through this tank. Run it as low as you can (when the computer shows 0 miles left, you have 1-2 gallons left) and fill with 93 (or 94 or 95 if you have it available, just to be safe for this tank). Torco fuel additive is the only thing proven safe, and I still wouldn't do that. Take the CAI off, run the tank dry, and start fresh. It sounds like you take care of your car. Don't make the mistake of being impatient and hurting your car.

Don't use the stuff since it barely raises your octane (when they say 5 points, they mean 87 ----> 87.5) and its hard on plugs.
You can go through the tank if you avoid WOT and a heavy foot, and have no issues.
