Default Better lighting

Going to order a HID kit from Stangmods (or two), this car needs better lighting at night, right now
I run with both the headlights and the fogs on for acceptable lighting. Did a bunch of searching and:

Going to get either 6k or 8k kit, dual beam for the headlights. I'm going to adjust them down
some to try to avoid blinding other drivers, that seems to be the thing to do.

Thinking of getting the 3k HID kit for the fogs. I wouldn't run them unless it was nasty weather, and since
I live in New England and this car is a DD, she'll see her share of bad weather (rain/snow).

Knowing that's what I want, is the 3k HID kit overkill, or should I just find amber bulbs like the lumics one?
I don't want the fogs to appear yellow during the day when the lights are off.

I'm also assuming that 6 or 8k HID > stock headlights + fogs.

Any help on choosing 6k or 8k HID? Just personal choice? Given I'll have yellow fogs, should
I stay away from the bluer 8k? Does 6k look less "illegal" than 8k? I'm not so concern with "looking
cool", I just want bright, functional lights.

Thx!

6000k is blue/white. 8000k looks a bit too ricey for me. the pics on stangmods.com are spot on.

I really dont think our fogs are what the name implies. I use them as driving lights. I installed the same color temp in my fogs as I did headlights. Both 5000k.

I use fogs when I am driving in empty roads that have little to no street lighting.
