Suggested clutch operating proceedures?
Hey guys and gals,
First post here!
I bought a 2007 GT in Nov of 06 and it is the first manual i have ever owned. I never took any classes, but just had to learn how to drive friends cars when they're drunk
Now having said that, i am wondering what are good techniques or skills to use when driving a manual.
When at a stop sign is it better to hold the clutch down while the car is in gear while waiting for the light to change or put the clutch in, shift into nuetral, and then release clutch and when the light changes do a fat burnout and smoke up the people behing you?
I switched over to the Royal Purple trans fluid, should i change that more frequently than suggested by the scheduled maintenance plan ford recomends?
a. I have some performance mods and i like to bang out gears on some twisty roads here in the SF bay area, so obvliously it
might get more use than a highway going cruiser
When should i be looking to replace the clutch and flywheel?
How do i check to make sure it is working appropriately?
how do i know when to replace the clutch? when it slips as i stomp on it in third?
any advice would be greatly appreciated. thanks!
2007 vista blue Gt, granetelli motorsports a arm brace, borla mufflers, pypes offroad x pipe, predator airaid 91 octane tune, airaid CAI, airaid throttle body spacer, suquential tail lights, royal purple fluids in rear end, transmission, and engine.
