Default Install day

Installed the following today:

- Hood struts I bought from forum member GrabberOrange1.
Big improvement over the bar. Works very well. No hood bow. Looks good.
- C&L Intake and Brenspeed 87 octane tune
Pretty easy install. Saw a modification on another forum to mount the bracket
that holds the MAF on. Other than that, very straightforward. Took it for a quick
drive to see if it would throw any codes. None. TacoBill's writeup on the download
is a little out of date, there was one unexpected step in the programming. I watched
Brenspeed's video and figured it out quick.

Question: *IF* something were to throw a code, how long would it take?

- Stangmods HID 6k kit
Again, fairly straightfoward, although a wiring diagram wouldn't have hurt. Mounting
the ballasts took the longest to find good spots, and I'm not really happy with the driver's
side. Too close to the intake, IMO. But, it's solid enough for now, I'll live with it and
keep an eye on it.

Yes, this thread is worthless without pics, I took a bunch and will organize them
shortly.

I'm of fairly limited mechanical ability, but I swear this car can probably be taken
apart in whole with a philips, 8mm and 10mm sockets... Nut drivers came in handy
as well.

Stay tuned for pics.

Rather than jam up a thread, I created a quick webpage (that way I don't have to resize pics).

http://web.mac.com/plutnicki/iWeb/Site/Mustang.html

Not a great write up or How To, but there they are.

The hood struts work great. The painted ones will be available shortly. Here is a yellow set we put on my car to see how they function with a fiberglass aftermarket hood. Works great.
