Dont feel bad my old motor in my 07 with 11 pounds of boost and 421 rear wheel hp only ogt me a best ever run of 12.90 at 117 miles an hour. 3700 lb car and even on ET streets. On paper my new motor and blower should get me 10's but for some reason this is the only car I cant ever get a great run out of, either its a crap launch or a late shift down the track.

it's not just the time but the trap speed that seems strange for a 500 hp car.
Have shifting problems?

Do you all have to start changing out your rear end gears and your tranny to be able to handle 500 horse power to the rear wheels?

Black05 I was at that event too and saw your runs. You were having a hard time hooking along with everybody else. I think I got some pics of your car also I will have to post. I also got several pics of the 500 plus cars too that I'm going to upload

The problem I was having wasn't just with the launch I was actually spinning my tires all the way down the track...I would shift and my tires would just spin...when I finally got the tires really sticky I didn't spin on each shift, but it was a little too late because that was my untimed run...I will run it again and now that I know what is needed to heat up my nittos I can hopefully pull off some better runs...

Street tires don't need to be heated, they actually get greasy when you heat them. Drive around the water and a quick spin is all I've ever done. Glad you had fun. i'm looking forward to watching Norwalk.
