Default wrecked

I was driving to my friends house on my way back from work and stopped at a light. This kid smashed into me going 40+. It looks like my car is going to be totaled.. the car wouldn't move. I've got a few pictures, the insurance agent said there is a good chance they wont total it, which completely blows. I've had the thing about 8 or 9 months. I'm wondering what you guys think as far as the car being repairable. If it winds up being totaled I'm probably going to have to buy a coupe, since I doubt I can afford a vert at the prices they are now. I found an 05 with low miles that is mineral gray, which happens to be my favorite color.

The pictures aren't that great. These are the ones I took with my camera phone. I wasn't really feeling too great at the time, but my friend took pictures with his phone as well. I'm not really sure how good his turned out.

Edit: It is kind of hard to see, but the rear axle is totally ****ed up. I'm not sure if the drive shaft is still mated to the rearend, it must be at least somewhat connected as the wheels moved the car forward slightly.

thats a shame. mini vans should come equipped with full brembo brake systems to make up for how ****ty the drivers usually are.

Damn....sorry to hear that. Not sure about a total or not, but that much force can do a lot to the frame and move a lot around. Hope you are ok.

Yeh. I think I'm alright. It looks like I hurt my back a bit, around my lumbar area on my spine. A friend of mine knows a chiropractor I can go see without a GP referral which is nice. I'll probably head over there and get checked out w/ a X-ray and all. I can walk no problem, so it shouldn't be anything that is going to ruin my life, plus I'm young and should bounce back alright.

The kid was driving the minivan. The line for the stop light was about 10 ft behind the beginning of the crosswalk you see in the photos, my car was pushed about 25-30 feet.. it's really crazy. I just hope I don't get screwed over by my insurance. I'm not sure how they deal with paying for the whole mess. I'm at a complete loss between whether or not they pay just the blue-book value of my car, or since it is new, whatever a new car replacement would cost. If they give me what a new car replacement costs, I'll be alright. If they just pay my car off I'm going to be sorta screwed. Hopefully I can buy my old car back for not too much and part it out and take my intake off it..

wow, that has got to be totaled.

So they put the idiot's minivan up on the flatbed and had yours dragged behind the truck? Not so sure I like the treatment of the victim in this case[]

Sorry to see this. Just shows you it can happen to you at any time even if you're careful.
