Factory Mufflers

RE: Factory Mufflers
That is really interesting. I’ve noticed that automatic cars sound different/quieter than the manuals. Do you suppose they were concerned that the automatic drivers would complain about the loader sound of the standard mufflers?

I think autos are louder than manuals, due to the fact that they upshift as fast as possible all the time rather than hold in any one gear! mine is an auto ,and mine was considerably louder thanmy buddys manual with the same exhaust setup! I guess ford figured it may be too loud and made a different muffler...thats all i can think

It might have something to due with the rpm's. Auto's and manuals will be at a different rpm range at the same speed so my theory is they did this to cut down on any dronning.
