How to launch
I have had my 05 GT for a few weeks now and I have gotten pretty good slamming through the gears however, I still would like to improve my launch technique. I have the 5spd man, and I of course disable TCS but I always end up laying loads of rubber
or bogging it down (momentarily of course). I know that there are probably a million different ways you guys launch your cars but I was hoping to get some opinions on say RPM's and clutch engagement.
Thanks!

You also need to check the tire inflation. I heard that if you lay a patch of rubber, go back and look at what you layed. If there is more rubber in the center of the marks, your tires are over inflated. If there is more rubber on the outsides, then they are under inflated. Adjust the tires pressure a little at a time until the marks are even all the way across. This will get as much rubber contact as possible and should help out the launch.
Next time you are out in your car, try this.
Turn TCS off and put car in second gear.
Rev to 5000 rpm, then slowly engage clutch, once you feel it fully engaged, mash the gas the rest of the way.
She will bog down a bit, but on the rebound she is amazing.
If you have 3.55 gears and a 5 speed, go to FRPP and get 4.10s because you are missing out!
4.10s and a diablo predator tune MAKE this car bad!
The clutch might slip enough to smell, but it doesn't hurt it that much.
If you want a bit safer launch, rev to 2250, then dump, or pop the clutch.
Less rpm means you should engage the clutch faster, just don't get all the way in the gas until after a little tire movement.
If you stole your mustang from someone, rev to 5K in first gear, dump clutch, bounce off rev limit, grab second, bounce rev limit and repeat with the following gears.
If you make it to 5th gear and you are smoking the tires, SLAM on the breaks because you must be dreaming it is only 300 horses. If you could find some old bias-ply tires that would fit your car, you could smoke the tires all day long, new radials have a bit more traction. The best solution is get your mustang to 500ft/lbs at 2500 rpm, and the tires won't matter anymore
