Mine was "stock" for < 1 week.
to answer the OP, "yes".
I mod because it's one of the thing that attracted me to the Mustang (and to HDs). It's an addiction,
it's easy, and there are so many options that the chances of running into a car just like yours is
very low. The mustang is supremely simple to work on, I swear a phillips head screwdriver
and a couple of sockets (10mm) could disassemble the whole car!
i mean i dont see how u CANT mod ur car even if its something as simple as a shorty antenna or a chin or anything i look day in and day out for new ideas and things i can do 2 my car!!! next on the list short shifter...Carlisle here i come!!!!
I got center fogs because I wanted a more RETRO look, reminescent of a 68 Shelby GT 500 KR that I fell in love with back in the 80's when my Dad gave me (my first) Mustang Monthly Magazine. (I still remember the car owners name, though I won't post it here.)
We mod/Hysterically detail to make them our own, and show people we care for our cars...for whatever reason.
I mod/detail because I love my car, and the looks on the young (and old alike's) faces when I roll up to a stoplight that just turned green.....and have a 6 year old kid hanging out the window of his families mini-van, with 2 thumbs up in the air yelling "MUUUUUUUSSSSSSTTTTTAANNNGG" (kids get waves and engine revs)..............this one got a burnout.
....or the 65 year old guy at the gas pumps telling me "She's a beauty!......take care of her" (this one had a Yellow '70 Mach 1 back home in the garage..........)
We mod to pay tribute, and detail as well, to show our love for our cars.
.....as another person here is fond of saying.....
"....I don't suffer from my insanity......I Enjoy it~!"

I was just arriving to work the other morning and thankfully a little early, when this oldergentleman stopped me as I was going to clock inand I saw him eyeing my car as I was backing into my parking spot and sowe had this conversation about the handling, the power etc..of the newer (S197) Stangs. Never once did he ask me if it were a V6 or a GT he was in love with what I had done to it. The Bullitts, the way the tips of my GT takeoff stuck out..EVERYTHING! Never once did I imagine that I could get along with complete strangers just based off of how my car looks and well I attribute this ALL to the mods I've completed to my Stang and making it my own. Modding is an addiction, an unquenchable thirst and as long as there is parts out there being made to better our already amazing cars then, I say keep on going!! Thats what money is for, to make you happy soooo live a little and do what you love..
I'm bored and alone in the shipping office here at work so yea, I felt like writing a lil bit

Modifying a car isn't anything new. Its been going on for ages. The terms we all use may change over time IE: Bling/modded etc but the actual act of modding is nothing but making what you own unique to your own taste. A car is nothing but a platform for somebody to transform it. Some people are happen with what they bought and do minor mods, others go all out as part of their own desires and views on what their car should look like.
Its sort of interesting that many cars, either Fords Mopars Chebbies start out as factory machines, slowly transform into what becomes a combo of many past owners 'mods' and sometimes become so far out there that it starts to look funny or the car isn't worth saving due to neglect/age/wrecks. Then once these very cars start to gain value over the years, some people buy up these butchered up cars and actually transform/restore them into what they call once again a 'factory' look and many cars come full circle back to what they originally looked like to start with. Look at the 70 SS Chevelle's or 70 Hemi Cuda's or 69 Boss 429's. These cars once again garner high prices due to somebody or group turning them back into 'factory' cars'. Its just the way it works.
