2006 v8 spark plug problem question
#21
Build date Aug 04, 60k miles... I was one of the very first lucky guys to get the car. Before they even knew about this problem. By that time the plugs were already stuck so no sense in doing it then. Did I follow the TSB? Of course I did... Didn't matter though, I believe the truth is in those plugs.

Boozshey thanks for the pics. Man what a job. Well I just bought my 06 with 29000 miles. It has a vortech on it and tuned and dynoed. I am going to go to the shop that installed the supercharger and talk too them too see if they changed them. I have talked too them and they are cool. what plug does anyone recomend? Thanks all.

i had my car in the shop a year or two ago and they pulled the plugs and one of the cylinder heads
about 4 months after this i swapped the plugs
i swear to god, those bastards just installed the plugs as tight as they could
55+ ft pounds to break most of them loose...i had a torque wrench on each one of those bastards....one or two came out under 30 ft pounds, but the rest were 55 and above
i was pissed...thankfully the plugs didn't break as they were pulled and resinstalled 4 months prior, but its clear the ford techs dont give a damn

We're not all ham fisted wrench pounders. I torque every set of plugs to spec.
Boozshey whats that tool make/number? The ford extractor tool does take 8 hours to use... its terrible and not realy the best system, especially when you have to wait for the loctite to dry.

Autolite HT0... Cheapest I've found... http://www.blowbyracing.com/auht0setof8.html
Don't for get to get a gapper tool... http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/80594/10002/-1
Then make sure you have a wire style gapper... http://ecx.images-amazon.com/images/...500_AA280_.jpg
Now I do believe that the "As built data" database may call for 8 hours. Everything in that damn thing is an over kill. This situations first off wouldn't require the full 8 hours and they should have discounted it due to the fact that several items they would have to remove would already be removed for the supercharger to be installed. Secondly, I am damn sure that JPC isn't using the POS Ford tool and I bet they have the Lisle tool just like I posted above.
JPC is a good shop, but dragging someone over the coals when they have there pants already down is shameless and doesn't sit right to me.
