That is one of the most helpless feelings ever. It all happens so fast. It seems to be moving in slow motion yet your reaction happens so quickly.

I've had debris fly up at me before and it totally sucks.

You wouldn't have a case against the Mustang in front of you unless you could prove that the debris that hit you was originally from their vehicle. Just like the car behind you wouldn't have a case against you if the debris had hit their car after it passed over/under yours.

Since I got my Mustang, I leave a lot of distance between me and the car in front of me when driving the turnpike to Miami! My last car was beat up by rocks, boards,and retreads.

Sorry to see what happened to your horse! Gatorbacks can be real wicked. Good thing that you are OK. Could you imagine what would have happened if you were on a motorcycle :0
