For the Gears I paid $180. (labor), the mid-pipe is easy enough to do yourself, as far as the Headers go $300. is a reasonable price....I wouldn't want to do that myself, it sounds easy when you read on the box "direct replacement of stock unit".....it is a Royal PITA.

I think some people on here got the backyard special on the gear installs, most people do pay around 400 for install, but we have some deal finders on here for sure

WOWZA! i had no idea this would be a topic this large. its definetly interesting to see the differences in where people go to get work done though, 200 to 500 bucks for a gear install is a huge difference! ill keep looking tommorow because i have the day off and ill post back up here what kind of prices i get from other shops. my biggest thing with the gears, i dont mind paying less somewhere and getting a ****ty install, so long as the guys stand by their work and will do it as many times as it takes to get it right without charging me after the first try. i just moved out of my parents house and money isnt quite so easy to come by anymore.

A ****ty gear install can kill the gears and contaminate all of the bearings.Try and save for a good install and save some serious headache time! You could always try it yourself. It's not as hard as some would make you think. The key is getting the right gears,Manufacturers quality and install time varies greatly. If you get a good set of gears you can damn near swap them right where the stockers were without changing any shims and be so close you will never know.A gear install can be done in about an hour tops.

I think your numbers are in line with what I've seen. However, I'm in the northeast so things are a bit more expensive. I've been quoted $600-$700 for LT installs so I'm not quite sure if shorties are different. I paid $400 for a gear install (good job and no whine) so your numbers to melook to be OK. I'm sure there are cheaper places and location does make a difference.
