Not expensive, under 150, and I'm pretty sure they're not illegal? Not too sure on that one.

With all the supplies needed, they come to about $185. Not sure on the legality, but it doesn't impede every day driving, so I wouldn't worry about it.

If you want to see how they're installed, here's my write-up.

If you get the SLP kit, everything is there. You just need the brake fluid for when you bleed the brakes. Also, I learned if you do not undo the cap before hand. The fluid will not drain out of the bottom of the hole. I had a full reservoir, undid the line and nothing dripped out. Just the fluid that was already in the lines

The cost is relative - what some may consider cheap may be expensive to others. I don't recall the cost of mine (sourced from PowerHouse), but it wasn't bad. I've never heard that they were illegal.

I have ABS, so I used dual solenoids, with each onemounted inthe corresponding wheelwell. I'm not 100% satisfied with the switch location (I mounted it on the overhead console). Other locations would be replacing the dummy slot where the 2008 seat heater switches are (between the A/C and max A/C buttons) or in the upper right corner of the headlight switch. You can also wire a toggle switch to make your cruise control or headlight dimmer activate your linelocks.
