Default Diable predator with K&N FIPK intake, anyone have it, thoughts?

Interested in getting this set-up, i have found each used so i can afford them. Looking at running this on 87 octane setting. Is the K&N FIPK intake on the list as "canned" tunes on this tunner? I have read it is jsut wanted to make sure. What HP do you think i could gain with this set-up. They say 15 alone for the intake as you don't have to tune it, but i want to be on the safe side and run a tunner with it so it dosen't lean out. I have a 2005 GT standard by the way. Thanks. Jord

I have the K&N Typhoon intake, I think thats the same one I have. It has a chrome inlet tube and looks pretty sharp. I think the gain is more like 8 to 10 hp with intake alone, a tune is not required but the Diablo adds another 20 or so. Thats a great price, I paid $115 shipped for the intake used and $200 shipped for the Diablo. I am running the 93 performance tune modified plus 6% on the air table. I am going to buy a custom tune for my setup from Bama Chips after I change out my gears. I would definetly stick with the 93 tune though, it's a completely different car over the 87 tune.

Is the K&N intake listed as one of the canned CAI's on the predator?...so when i upload this tune i should never run lean with the K&N intake? As i hear they can run lean with no tune....thanks, Jord

No there's much better stuff out there. My advice is to get a Xcal2 and a C&L CAI with 88mm maf tube from VMPTuning.com

Well i got the predator tuner for $125 bucks used, good deal i'd say myself. I just have to get my intake in now, but i should get in it soon. I will be running the 87 octane tune, because 91 octane is another 10 cents a liter, so about 1.50/L = $5.70 a liters, so i don't think i will be paying that. I'm hoping with the 87 octane tune and the intake will give me a solid 20 more HP, as they say the intake will give 15.2HP alone with no tune. It should be fun!
