To beat an Lt1 with a couple bolt ons won't be to difficult. I beat an auto LT1 Z28 with long tubes, full exaust, 3.73 gears, cold air intake, tune, underdrive pullies, and i think that was it... I beat it by more than a car with just a K&N intake and no tune. Raced from a 25 and a 45, same results.

Most importantly, you need the good driver mod.

sounds like you got the same problem as me except ive got a ls1 t/a with a BIG came but hes gonna get the gas!!!!

I've been a strong advocate of tires lately. You need to be able to put that hp to the ground. drag radials or slicks w/17" (18")wheels ftw

Put your 17's back on and you should beat him. As far as upgrades... CAI + Tune for starters...

I don't think you'll need much to beat him.

I had a '95 Z28 w/the LT1...if remember correctly it only put out 275hp and did 0 - 60 in 5.7 secs...never did break into the 13's at the track...maybe 14.0...

Doesn't the stock GT put out 300 hp and 0 - 60 in 5.3 w/high 13's in the 1/4? Even the old SS LT1's only put out 305 hp...it wasn't until the LS1 w/330 hp ('98 & up Z28 SS) that the stock Z's broke the 300hp mark.

Dunno, am I missing something? I've had 4 Camaro's & 1 Firebird (always been a Bowtie fan)...this is my first Blue Oval, and I'm impressed so far.
