Mine don't drone at all, they are honestly pretty quiet under about 3500rpm and then they start to bark. My wife falls asleep in the car on the highway doing 80mph ona regular basis so that should tell you just cruising they aren't too loud.

I had them on my 06 Auto GT and the DRONE was GROSS!!! Don't do it!!
+1 I had the Borla Stingers on my automatic '06 GT and man, they were unbearable, its torture, and I'm not exaggerating! If it was a race car, thats one thing, but this is a car I live with, and theres people other than me in it too. The drone was about 1,800-2k rpms, its so bad , parts of my interior were buzzing (vibrating), it gets you to the point where you feel naseous! I had them on for one day, whipped 'em right off and sold them. I bought the FRPP GTA's and never looked back! (BTW rest of the exhaust is stock)

I have had them for about 6 months. There is a lot of drone around 2000rpms but you can get around it driving with o.d. off. As one of the other posts stated they dont drone at all at highway speeds. They sound great......and and even better the heavier my right foot gets.

Very annoying at first. Thre really don't sound as loud ad you'd expect with how they drone on the inside. My o/f h was later added and calmed down the stingers a bit. Trumpets are up, less drone. Keep up on the tips if you want them not to corrode.

My Stingers don't drone at all. The first weekI had them, they had a little drone, but after the break in period, i hardly hear anything in the cabin during normal cruise.Tryre-positioning them after a week or so. I got rid of all the air bubbles and now there is no drone. I love the sound they give off, esp at WOT

Also, and this is a bit off topic, but stingers shouldn't cost you more than $399, if you're going to get them.

I had the same concerns and have decided to get a corsa axleback instead. If you were going to spend $500, you could always just save up a little bit more and get the corsa's for aroun $700. I think they're like $677 from lmperformance or something.

+1 Jersey Stang I personally love my stingers... i thought that they were the perfect tone in comparision to all those raspy axel backs that you can buy out there, i'm also surprised that someone said that they were as loud as a "race car" they are def not at that point bc i didn't want my car to sound like that at all i didn't want my car to sound faster than in fact it was, the stingers give you car a nice deep muscle car rumble and drone just as much as any other aftermarket axel back, my clip is up on youtube under RastaCampbell For 06 Borla FRPP Stingers, all and all i can't say enough about them i researched alot bc i'm a college student as well and i think they are worth every cent.... either way the world of axel backs is all up to personal pref. i guess the best way to do it is to listen for what you like on websites and the best is to actually get to hear some of them, look for local mustang clubs/ events and maybe you can get a preview before you shell out some serious coin on somthing you're not sure about, i hot that helped i know it was long haha

hmmm.... interesting. How do the corsas compare in sound and drone to the stingers?

The reason they're so expensive is that they're supposed to eliminate drone completely *completely*. A lot of R&D was supposed to have gone into their development.

As far as sound, I can't truly compare them seeing as I've only heard FRPP Stingers mated to an O/R H, but the corsas seem amazing.

Up to you, though.

I love my stingers, and I wouldn't replace them for anything. I have a manual trans, and there is some drone, but it depends on many factors. Weather seems to affect drone as much as anything else. It drones loudly in some types of weather/temps, but at other times the drone is barely noticeable.

The nice thing about the stingers is that even if you decide they won't work out for you, you can always sell them. They are VERY popular because they sound so great behind these 3v engines.

BTW, you can always splice-in an X-pipe to reduce drone dramatically.

Here are my two videos. The first is stock H-pipe with Borla stingers, and the second is MAC prochamber midpipe mated with Pypes high-flow cats and Borla stingers. I love the sound!
