I would clay first (even if new) after you wash the car and then polish and wax. I have had my clay bar get dirty on a BRAND NEW CAR!!!!!! It wont hurt a thing and the paint will be smooth as glass.......now it is ready for depth (polish) and shine (wax-carnuba only IMO esp on black for protection as well).....JMO but what do I know....LOL[8D]

MyGT500 - If it made your black paint look that good then it surely will make mine look that good as well. It is only 1 month oldshould I clay it first or just polish and wax? Also the strips are flat black vinyl, what can I do to protect them?- Thanks!

UltraShock - It was part of a package; contact Ryan Davis @ www.heritagecustoms.com you might want to get the phone number off of the website and call him; he is a little slow getting back on emails.

+1 once the clearcoat has been baked, its ready to go. I bought my 08 and a day later noticed some lot damage on the fender. The dealer repainted it and when I picked it up they said it was ok to wash/wax or whatever to it. That once its been baked they actually put a polish on it before giving it to me and recomended I get some type of sealent on it asap.

Anytime time pat....just got done with my fathers 4x4 for fathers day last weekend and it is black. He was so amazed that I got all the swirls out and it looked brand new with depth and wetness....like looking into a black pool!!!!!!!!! All done in 8 hrs with a porter cable for every step except removal of the products. I had to wash, clay, mild rubbing compound with green pad, polishing compound with white pad, and carnuba wax (2 coats) with a glazing red pad. Turned out great! All Meguiars products. I have used Blackfire on a friends dark blue car and I do like it but my choice for black is Meguiars products and 2 coats of carnuba wax after. Sure it does not last as long but gives the results I want and have grown to achieve over the years esp with the porter cable D/A polisher. I think it is time for an oribital to speed things up! Always learning new things.....[8D]
