Default 08 gt sat radio install

OK I have a 08 gt that has the trips tune advance system and no sat radio. Well my head unit says Sirius ready when i unplugged it and then replugged it back in. So my head unit is Sat radio ready. I also know that I need a tuner which I bought off of eBay andalso I need to go get the plug to hookit into the radio and the ford factory sat antenna too. My question is that can I use the trips tune advance system while having Sat radio? My thoughts are no because it looks like you use the connector that the trips tune advance is plugged into to. Which is okay with me I just want to use the factory head unit with the sat radio. Please give me some sort of advice on this. Also can I buy the plug for the tuner and the sat antenna any other place than the Ford dealership?
Thanks guys.

Contact these folks www.dbautoradio.com/product.htm#Satellite
They can answer all your questions about plugs and harnesses for the Shaker 500/1000 satellite ready radios and give you a better price than the dealership. I bought aSirius tuner off ebay and the harness from these people. Had it all installed and the tuner couldn't be activated so I called them and they had me send everything to them. They determined the problem to be the tuner I bought which was from an '08 ford pick-up wouldn't work with the harness.I had to buy another tuner from them which was different than the one I'd bought on ebay. The ebay seller did take the tuner back. The factory satellite antenna plug has a shroud over the end of it but any sirius satellite antenna will work.

Its just not a mix and match OEM stereo game
anymore with the network communications and
the as built data requirements.
The Shakers have vehicle/options specific software
loaded into them and some wont work with others
even though they look exactly the same on the outside.
Get a wiring diagram for the newer 08 model.
This will answer your trip tunes advanced/sat
radio compatability questions.
Here is a peek at a non sat radio compatable wiring diagram
to give you an idea of the scope of whats involved.

Don't spend the money onthe Sirius wiring harness until you look behind the carpet in your trunk. My 2008 Shaker 1000 equipped convertible was pre-wired for the Sirius receiver. Installation was 100% plug and play for me.

Could you please tell us the steps you took to get
your non-workingpre-installed sat receiver to work.
What did you plug and play?
A special harness or some sort of master user codes
or what?
