Quieter than factory gears. I didnt know the factory gears made any noise until they were changed.
I gained 1 mpg in town and lost 3 mpg on the highway.
At the track the 4.10is great with 26 inch tires. No more bog.
On the street I think 3.73 would be a better choice. I dont ever use 1st anymore.
PS If you dont have the same connections I have he gets $175 for gear installs.

Just bought the 4.10s yesterday!!!!!!! I got the gears, the B install kit, and friction modifier. I'm gonna get it installed pretty soon. You guys recommend Royal Purple?? Downs Ford said that the standard ford stuff is good enough.
Hey I have a question about the rear diff lube. I picked up 3 quarts of Mobil 1 synthetic. Itis 75w140 and it is synthetic but it says Light truck and SUV formula on it. The guy at the store said thats becuase that weight is mostly used on trucks and the Parts guy at Ford said it's fine to use too. Is this correct? Is it ok to use? Mind you it DOES say formulaed for most cars, vans and suvs on the back
Thanks alot!
Thanks alot!
I have an auto and getting 4.10's installed in 2 days. I ordered FRPP gears and the install kit from American Muscle for $264.98. I'm getting them installed by a ford dealer for $325.00. They are supplying the gear lube a friction modifier.A total of $589.98, which isn't bad considering I'm getting it done by a dealer. I'll tell ya how it drives once I pick it up.
I think 250 to 500 miles is safe before seeing or feeling what the gears will really do. As far gear oil, I have read that you should not use syntheic gear lube. Here is a link from SD gear and axle about rear gear lube: http://sdgearaxle.com/_wsn/page3.html
