4.10s
This is awesome!!! alot to read, I have no time right now so I'll have to wait till after work but this is what I wanted. And it seems fourth goes higher than 100mph which is good, That quote scared me. Anyway Thanks and more opinions is cool too haha
Just to get this straight......So the car doesnt accelerate slower up top with 4.10s right? What I'm saying is any gear, any speed the 4.10s WILL pull harder than the 3.55s correct???
Check it out, dude... when I opened it up yesterday my buddy kept trying to sit forward in the seat and every time I would shift, even in FOURTH, his head got thrown back. The car WILL PULL all the way to the end. 4.10s are the divine touch of god inside your rear diff. Yes, night and day difference between 3.55's and 4.10s. Pull the trigger... you know you want to...
i have 3.31's and i can only imagine what the difference is like going to 4.10's! you guys are making me really jealous. my 3.31's are just driving me nuts right now with a 5-speed. the car just lugs like crazy when driving around town. until it makes the slow (feels like forever sometimes) climb to 3+ grand i feel like i'm driving around in some econo car
Here's another reason... I drive my car very easy when I'm just goin around town. I open it up once in awhile to have fun. I opened it up the other day to 140 and other than that been driving like a granny. start off in 2nd, shift into 4th, and then 5th. well my trip gauge is reading 84 miles and its just now passing the full line.... i'm sure i'm an exception rather than the rule on the gas mileage however. And I do drive a manual, so that plays a huge factor.
Hey how much did you guys pay total with everything? I've been looking for prices. I got a quote for $850 with everything installed from Downs. Is this good at all considering Ford's the one taking care of it?..................or should I try and get a cheaper install from an independent shop
In the book, it's a 7 hour job. 7 hours x hourly rate for install. I got my 4.10s from brenspeed along with the master bearing install kit. So 160 for gears, 80 for kit, and it cost me 350 for install. 590 total for me.
Vista,
Go to wikipedia and look up how gear ratio affects acceleration. Regardless of MPH a car with 4.10's will accelerate forward "faster" than a car with 3.55's. Eventually, if the car had enough horsepower to continue to overcome the increased drag at increased speed the car with 3.55 gears would reach a higher top speed.

Yea I know the 4.10s will have a lower top speed but I really don't see myself even needing the stock 150mph....................although I have always wanted to pin it. I've gotten close but no cigar haha. But what I've heard on here the 410s will still pin our speedo
