Default importance of suspension upgrades?

Being a DD, how much suspension do you guys think I should do? Im not going to take it to the strip more than like 2 times a year, and I have more fun just driving it on the road. Will i notice a better suspension much? im going to get it lowered but im not sure after that.

Well look at it this way, what good is having 1000 hp if you can't get it to the ground or use it? Suspension makes a big difference in ride quality as well as handling and straight line performance too. I would suggest some bigger sway bars and maybe subframe connectors if you can get them for your car.

If there is something in your brain that itches, and you think suspension improvements will scratch it, go ahead. Unless you establish some performance parameters that are important to you, the advice you get will be hit-or-miss, mostly miss.

You have a GT500? That's pretty well sorted, suspension-wise, I thought. If it doesn't have adjustable shocks/struts, that may be the only worthwhile mod, unless you want to do some serious autocross or road course work. Lowering will make it look good, and probably result in a slightly harsher ride experience.

Adjustable shocks/struts will allow you to fit the every-day ride and handling to your preferences, and to tart it up a bit for curve-carving. Otherwise, I'm afraid you'll just be modding because you can (it's a disease; I recommend you get inoculated and don't start).

I'm pretty sure the Shelby GT500 (assuming thats what you have based on your screen name)has a bit different suspension than the GT, like stiffer andlower springs.

You should probably go to the 4.6L Handling section of this forum and ask your question, but before you do you need to define what you don't like about the current suspension...what is it specifically that you are interested in changing? Wheel hop, traction off the line, ride, taking corners at high speed, looks...what? If you don't have the answer then it seems to me your current set up is fine.

Thats true if you get any TS S/C (like the whipple). Get the Lca's and a UCA to start. Maybe new shocks and springs too. If you have fat tires on the back get an adj panhard bar to re-center the rear.
