Default explorer aluminum driveshaft

a local driveshaft shop has customized (shortened) some aluminum explorer driveshafts to work on s197's. All i need is a new pinion flange that will work to adapt this driveshaft to the rear of the mustang. I'm assuming I could also use a pinion flange adapter similar to coast's or shaftmasters'?

anybody have any input or comments on this?

part numbers?

I can get this driveshaft for about $225.

would a pinion flange for an explorer work?

I think I would rather use an adapter so I don't have to worry about the pinion bearing preload. There are some flange adapters on shaftmasters website, however I don't know which one I would need.
