I recently got an aftermarket Fiberglass hood and went to install it last night and ran into some issues.

I took the old hood off, and left the mounting brackets attached to the car. then I placed the new hood on the car just to check fitment. With the front of the hood aligned with the front fenders, the hood did not line up with the mounting brackets, it was off by a good 1/4"

Is this common? can I re-adjust how the mounting brackets attach to the car to fix this issue, or am I boned?

It's the Eleanor hood from Champion Fiberglass Products.

hood fitament is a slow process, bolt the hood to the hinges and lower it down, slow! see which way it needs to go andlossen the hinge bolts and tweek. it is best to have a freind to hold the hood. it will take several times to get it right, unless you got abad hood and then you could have to modify the hood to make it fit...it is hard to tell with no pics...
