Running limewire on windows is like sleeping with a prostitute without a condom.

Use iTunes to burn your mp3 cds and you should not have a problem.

Using Roxio is good too as it's easy to create "folders" for more organization.

The disk seems to matter more than anything. Some marginal media seems to work some times, then if placed back in later might not. I usually use Memorex CDR's, as I've had the best luck with them.

The link provided above is very informative. I also use ISO recorder to make my disks. It works very well for music CD's and well as general data CD's for work.

I keep my Shaker full, and have anywhere from 5 to 11 CD's worth on each disc. I've had to start keeping a list on my Blackberry to help me navigate what's in the Shaker at any given moment.

Thanks for the heads up and all the info guys. It is much appreciated. In the end I'll probably end up buying a new head unit as well as an iPod.

The shaker head unit is great, I don't know how these noobs think it's bad. It has great sound output for the price.

lol, I hope your post was a joke.

When it only plays 1 in 10 homemade CD's that it's supposed to, when it skips and gets discs jammed in it endlessly, on and on and on, it's not a great player. And if you call Shaker sound output "great," you're probably going deaf from exhaust drone or something.

It might be "okay" for a factory stereo system, but it is definitely not great in any way.

The subs and speakers aren't horrible, but that head unit is basically trash.

i agree 100% with this. here is the thing, (1) you are not going to find a decent 6 mp3 changer for a good price worth replacing.
(2) just my opinion here, but the shaker looks natural in the car, a single din dosent, and that storage cubby, forget it. here is one reason why i have replaced the shaker in the last stang. i had big plans for audio. i am no audio expert, but the shaker has its limitations. it does not have pre amp outputs, which means you have have to get a pac box if you plan on subs and components like i did. if you are going to leave the speakers and add no amps or subs, i would consider leaving the shaker. i was happy with that. true, you cannot "fine tune" a shaker unit, no equalizer or such, but its simple and easy and has nice features like RDS. by the way, i went all Alpine speakers and Alpine CDA-9887 deck, the colors were nice in the dark, but just didnt fit the car. looked like i should go in a Mitsubitsi or something. Hope any of that helps

LOL, because the interior looks so cheap compared to an upgraded head unit.

Look at Taco-Bell's install of his Pioneer or Alpine (or whatever that was) double-din head unit. Looks very natural and fitting for the car.

I agree about the cubby thing looking bad, so I would never go with a single-din unit to replace the Skipper. As long as you get a nice double-din that's basically all screen (not 5 inches of screen and a bunch of cheap shiny plastic and huge buttons) it fits the car nicely.

Expensive, but the best way to go when replacing the Shaker.
