Default Should I be worried?

A buddy of mine bet me $100 last night that his manual 04 RX8 wouldbeat my basically stock 07 GT in the 1/4 mile. I'm thinking no way, especiallyconsidering we just ran the 1/8 mile and I ran 9.4's and he ran 10.5's. He says he's getting a chip but I still don't think there is a chance he could catch me unless there is driver error involved.

What do you think? Should I get a quick mod or just race him stock? Please post up and let me know!

If all he has is basic boltons...even with you being stock, you should be pulling him ALL DAY. I wish i had a friend with a car that slow willing to bet $100. Take his money and use it for mods.

Funny you should post this...

...last night I was coming back from a trip to Wally World (Wal-mart), and a total DOUCHE in an RX8 pulled up next to me and shouted, "Wanna race (expletive deleted)?". I responded, "I dunno dude, this GT looks good, but it's not that fast." At that point the light turned green and I smoked his *** like he was a Swisher Sweet Blunt!!!

Now that I think about it...I probably should have mentioned that I've got this thing under my hood that says, "Saleen Supercharger".

Oh well, maybe next time!!!

I test drove a new RX-8 and it was noticeably slower than my 2005 GT.
Stock vs stock you should blow his doors off.

Don't worry about it. I had one then traded it in on my GT. I needed some real horsepower.
The rx8 doesn't start making power (what little it can) untill about 5000 rpm. Get him off the line and watch him disapear in your rearview mirror and try not to fall asleep while your waiting for him at the finish line.
