Default torque converter

I have an auto and was thinking about getting a torque converter. I have heard that it would help a lot and then some said it wouldn't. Anyone have one and what has been your experience? Also has anyone heard of an exhaust called bullet? or heard it on a mustang?

Torque converters only help at the track or when cruising above 60mph in terms of speed. Otherwise they just reduce your MPG.

Now at the track they are worth an equivilent of 35rwhp or .25 second.
