I just went through this same dilema....I purchased Ford Racing ceramic coated shorties. I bought them from Jegs, who BY FAR had the best price at $459. I'll berunning a Magnaflow true X with CATs to a Magnaflow 3" CAT backwith magnapacks.

Do all shorty's allow you to pass emissions as long as you have cats or only the JBA's? I'm trying to decide as I'll be purchasing next week.

Any reason in particular you guys decided to go with shorties instead of LTs? Easier install? Lower price? I've been figuring on getting LTs since they add a bit more HP and quite a bit more if you go S/C..

Was price and clearence for me. I dont want to deal with cats hanging ender the frame rails since I'm lowered, and the I just cant justify the extra 800 bucks for a car that doesnt see track time. Shorties will be fine for my DD......I just re-ordered JBA titanium ceramic coated for 477 shipped yesterday, they'll be here sat and I should have them on by the ends of the month. I say re-order becaue the first place I went to pushed my order back another 3 weeks and I got tired of that.

a lot of guys don't like the shorties...they don't produce a lot of horsepower, however they do improve midrange torque. i purchased frpp shorties and have no problems with them..(some guys say they're junk compared to bbk's or jba's) but they're barely turning colors and don't leak at all.....themain purpose i went with shorties is to be able to reinstall the stock catted h pipe if i need to....like if i were to take the car back to the dealer for some sort of warranty repair i wouldn't want a hassle because of having an off road x, also didn't want any clearance issues with the long tubes since i'm lowered

I'm doing shorties also for clearance issues. I'm lowered and the area I'm in has disgusting roads. Not to mention I just put my new X pipe on last month and can't justify replacing it already when there's nothing wrong with it. It came with the O/R pipes so I can be emissions legal or not whenever I want. My car won't be seeing the track for at least another year so I have no use for LTs. That and my HP goal can be achieved without LT headers.

Igot the tuned length BBK ceramic coated shortiesfrom Stage 3 motorsports in March.
Paid 390, no problems so far. It takes the same effort to install shorties as LT's, it's just a matter of what you want and how much money you want to spend.
