Would getting shorty headers require a tune?
shorties by themselves shouldn't need a tune. perhaps when combined with other mods, like an off road pipe, cai kit, maybe. i'm getting cel's after installing shorties (slow oxygen sensor response, which is supposed to be a long tube issue)..some of the guys around here say it's probably time to get a tune, others say i probably have bad 02's...one of the local tuners looked at the real time o2 function (with the predator) and he seems to think they're functioning normally.

i'll probably get an on line tune from bama chips in the near future to accomodate my mods, and hopefully get rid of the pesky cel's

You are correct that is an LT issue because twith LT's you have to move the sensors back farther which causes the slow o2 sensor response. With shorties you only change the out the stock manifolds leaving the midpipe stock and sensors in thier stock location so the slow o2 response should not be showing up. Maybe check the install on the o2 sensors or change them.

I agree installed BBK LT a week ago and love them. I agree with all you will have to lift the motor to get to the bolts. I jacked the car up as far has possible and supported with stands. I used phone books and and my floor jack to remove the motor mounts on at a time. Has far has LT and the BBK catted X Pipe go they hang no lower then the exhaust did before.
