problem shifting into 3rd?
okay; i've got an 08 Gt manual. if i really get into it; and try to quickly shift into 3rd; it seems like i "catch" the spot between 1st and 3rd. (the separator between the gears) and i have to bring it back into netural and try 3rd again.
i hope that makes enough sense where you understand. is this a common problem? maybe something a driver mod will fix? something a STS will fix?
or is this just a problem with a loose nut behind the steering wheel?

haha. so buy a shifter. have same problem. buy motor mounts then. possibly have same problem again? lol. sounds like i need to get a driver mod before i do anything.
never had any problems with my past manuals; but they were a cobalt and an old jeep wrangler....

When the tranny torques under hard load, it can make it more difficult to find the gear, its pretty common. Some people will suggest motor mounts and/or a k-member brace with torque limitors that attach to the tranny.
Yes, a k-member with torque limitors is a good option. I purchased the CHE as is was recommended by several people on this forum. It helps elimate the twist that your tranny is enduring during hard acceleration.
Amber is correct, K member brace and torque limiters will keep the tranny under control and you shouldnt have he problems anymore.....motor mounts help also. A new shifter is not the answer to this problem.
