Uh, free is good in my book. Maybe not at Joe's around the corner. But most dealers stand behind their work.

ok so back form the dealer. i marked the oil filter with a marker though the marking would be on the other side if they decided to jsut spin it around. but the oil filter is dirty. is that normal? and there is a little oil leak right under the filter. can anyone tell me if this is normal or not?

and also this caught my eye:

something seems missing. the area pictured is the top right corner of the engine bay. those white rings around the pipes are loose. is somethign supposed to go there?

though with the dirty filter and leak under it (not onto my driveway but onto whatever part of the frame is under there) is that ok?

have you removed the filter to check to see if the mark you made is indeed on the other side?

perhaps they replaced the old one with a new one that was sitting around and got dirty, but the leak isn't good. i hope it's not cross-threaded. since i doubt you want to drain out all the new oil to check the filter, i might bring it back to the dealership and tell them about it.

The plastic clips in the pics are normal and left over from the install of the AC lines. Most cars will have them. You can cut them off.

The oil on the oil filter...is actually a leak or a couple of drops left over? Wipe it off and see if it comes back. If it comes back it's not normal. If it's gone then it was from when they filled the filter before putting on the car. It's known as priming the oil filter.

the leak isn't an active leak it jsut seemed like oil leaked out from where the filter sits.
