Yeah I think $450 was the intro price. I also think I'll wait and see what designs come out in the next 12 months.

I like the black Shelby style hood too... All I think it needs is the center intake hole like the '69 hood had. Too bad there is not more info on it.

I talked to Fang Performance (they have a NICE Shaker setup) and they are also developing a hood similar to the black one. They are also working on some fenders that are similar to the '69 Shelby.

Fangperformance.com - talk to Terry about what they have in the works...

Does this new intake improve performance at all? Has anybody tested it or the CDC version? Also, would this intake be problematic when it rains or snows?

Not sure about the Fang version, but the CDC routes the air from the rear of the scoop all the way to the stock filter location (front left). So it's not really ram air because the air has to travel such a winding route before reaching the intake. It does provide cooler air than under the hood though, so there is a small HP gain.

==Also, would this intake be problematic when it rains or snows? ==

Do you mean through the hole in the hood or being ingested into the scoop? The scoop pan has an integral drain, so drainage won't get the motor wet. I'm not sure about entering the scoop, but I doubt much moisture would make it from the scoop back up to the air filter and into the intake.

Well, I'm assuming the hood would have some sort of water seal around the scoop, I was referring to water going into the scoop itself.
