What Clutch and flywheel do you like?

RE: What Clutch and flywheel do you like?
Personally I dont like aluminium flywheels... A heavy biting clutch will slowly eat an aluminium flywheel. What I did is I took my steel flywheel to a machine shop to have it resurfaced then I shaved quite a bit from it ^^

I am no flywheel expert but this is my 2 cents
Alum FW reduces rotating mass and "free's" up HP. The car will bo through the power band faster. In high hp situations you should go with something that has a replaceable steel friction plates. From what I have heard RPS is the best. www.turboclutch.com.
A steel flywheel has more inertia and is stronger (ie wont wear as fast). If will also make the car launch better if you frequent the drag strip.
Third option is to resurface the stocker and get some more life out of it.
As far as what I am personally doing, I am going to get a spec stage 2 and alum FW. Car has about 18k miles now and at 100k I am going to build the motor, so I will make more hp and have an 8 bolt crank so I will get a whole new setup. At that point I will go Mcloud Twin Disc and a lightweight steel flywheel to cope with the power.
I recommend you just straight to that given your current power.
good luck

RE: What Clutch and flywheel do you like?
Power is nothing without a good clutch to hold it, so dont feel to bad. I was ready to pull the trigger on the mcloud too untill I heard spec raised the tq rating on the Stage 2 to 599ft lbs. That is plenty for me on the stock block.
I think I am going to get a spec flywheel but I might end up with the RPS, Just have to see on price.
My mod list for january is expanding exponentially so now I have to cut back on costs.
