RE: proper way to powerslide
try it in the rain first. low speeds. the wheel will pretty much turn itself, when the back flips out. let it go, then grab it and hold it.
be ****ing careful when you go to try it in the dry. WAYYYY different.

to those that say dont do and learn your car.........
how are you ever going to learn your car and its limits if you dont push them?!?
close calls, and doing stuff like this is what makes us all learn.. now im not saying go all out.. and try sliding into a parallel parking spot liek in those comercials.. but if your in a empty parking lot.. go for it.. learn how much gas will do what.. i almost lost it on a small road on a corner, the ground was mayyyybe damp.. but hadnt rained in a few hours.. and it DEFF wasnt wet.. and the *** end came way farther out than expected.. but i have learned how to recover.. just keep your cool and dont freak out.. let it flow and youll get the hanf of it

tires are a lot cheaper than a clutch lol, and yea it rained today so i went out and had fun with it and im used to the handling in the rain as i did it with my dodge ram all the time, but the dry is what i need to work on as it is a whole lot more friction making it harder, but thanx a lot guys

Hmm, interesting advice. The real way to power slide doesn't involve braking or dipping the clutch though, it's all about weight transfer. You only see drifters doing all that in slow corners but when they get up to speedyou see them flick the car the opposite way before the turn to unsettle the car's balance and feed the power on as the car rolls/rocks back into the turn. With the right technique, it's less about power and much more about skill.
Drifting = power sliding
Driving round a car park in small or medium circles= donuting
Both different disciplines requiring differing skill levels.
If you want to play at power sliding, and I recommend it for acquiring/honing your car control, find a hugeass [private] area in which to do it. Small airfields are great fun but be sure to get Clearance first
Starting in the wet, as already suggested, it a good start.
