ive heard that intake makes pretty good numbers (which I assume would be with a tune); something like a solid25-30 rwhp & tq

I'm pretty sure they used to sell it at brenspeed. I checked recently for this specific CAI and was surprised to not see it. I bet they would be the people to ask. Let us know if you do ask!

Would you need a special hood for it??
Kind of like the WS6's have with their nostrils in the front??

The way the S197 front is, there's apparently plenty of air that comes in between the top of the radiator and the bottom of the hood, and this intake pulls it all from there. If you wanted to have the nostrils, the only hood I've found that would work without you having to re-make the underside is the Cervini's RamAir Type IV, as it's open on the underside. All the other functional hoods I've seen have built in ducting to route the air to the stock airbox location. Which sucks, as this is the intake I want (and WILL be getting at some point), and I found the perfect hood as well... but they're incompatible without a TON of work, that I'm not even sure is feasible.

Yea, Brenspeed did have it at one time. I believe it was the most expensive one.

I really, really like the looks of this thing.

But, I would have to be very convinced that it would produce considerably better gains than a Steeda or JLT CAI/tune before I spent the extra cash on it. It looks like at the least, you'd end up spending nearly $400 for the main unit, then $120'ish for the ram air tray.

If Xeno is right, and this produces 25-30 hp with a tune, isn't that about what a Steeda with a good tune will do?
