And the KR doesn't sell for 80k... it's substantially marked up to more like 125-150k, while the SA-25 isn't. Also Shelby made cars back in the 90's too, and the SA-15 holds it's value way better than those Shelby's cars.
The Saleen extreme gets significantly better handling numbers in both the slalom and the skid pad, I don't see how that Porsch could even compete. The Porsch is 12% less quick through the cones and 20% slower on the skid pad to begin with.
Considering Supras which aren't even new and sell for 60k and get similar drag times while even having worse interiors and looks, I don't think 100k for the car is that bad.

that is my point...no offense...but the GT500 did not come out until the 2007 model and the first one was sold in Jan 2006..so unless he has a prototype that no one knows about there is no 2005 gt500....anyone else hear of a 2005 gt500? maybe the facts I have seen are wrong...

Yes,the GT500is a 2005 By early production i mean it was one of the first ones to hit the lots. He had preordered it.

2005?? you sure its not a 2007...did not think they released them as a 2005 model...thought it was 2007...with the first model off the floor being sold at Barret Jackson auction in Jan 2006? for charity...

People are buying these as collector items. Pay $150,000 for one now, garage it for 20yrs and resell for $500k. My buddy who has one ordered plans on doing this. He also has an early production 2005 GT500 that rarely leaves the garage.

ITS A GREAT CAR AND HAS DEFINITE COLLECTOR VALUE OR IT WOULDNT BE DRAWING THE FIGURES IT HAS BEEN. BOTTOM LINE, INCLUDING MYSELF, IF WE ARE BOTHERED BY THE 120K GOING PRICE, ITS NOT FOR US. WE'LL JUST STICK TO BUILDING CLONES. I SAW ONE AT THE CARS & COFFEE LAST SUNDAY IN CALABASAS NEXT TO A GT500.

RE: GT500 KR....79,995?????
who knows how well these cars will hold there value. if your looking to hold on to one of these just to sell it later, go invest your money into savings bonds or the stock market. cars are meant to be driven. if i had 80g to spend, id have one fast gt.

Are the KR's being sold with 18" or 20" wheels/tires?

The one I had the privilege of seeing in person was black with 18 inch wheels.
I personally feel the cost of the KR is driven by supply and demand. Being as limited as it is, and having the numbers in regards to the performance that it boasts, I feel collectors are going to be all over this car.
30 more grand on top of the GT500? Heck yeah, I'd want one. Granted....I do have my monetary limits as to what I can afford, but nothing's impossible.
It think for $80 grand the car is a steal.....and I am even more impressed that it *is* commanding a price way over MSRP. If I had it, I'd get it.

RE: GT500 KR....79,995?????
There weren't any GT500's in 2005. Not as a model year and definetly not sold within that year. Maybe it was just a Shelby GT? They had those in 2005 right?
And +1 to the guy that said anyone buying a KR as an investment is stupid: cars are meant to be driven, if you want to make money there's about 5043908534 better investments out there that will yield better returns and at less risk.
But if you think the car is awesome and you want to own one, independent of it's future worth, it is one damn good looking car.
But seriously, an 80K 600HP RWD car that doesn't have an IRS? That's just inexplicable. Period. Ford may be hemhoraging money but they still shoulda invested in the IRS for the KR. Just no excuse.

$79,000+ is a perfectly legitimate price for the KR. It is awesome. Maybe you need to read the reviews and stop staring at the sticker price that you obviously are afraid of!
I am sick of people posting how the latest Mustang is nothing special. Started back with the GT500, then the Shelby GT...
If you can't afford it STFU and build something better yourself and stay off the internet![:@]
