Default Shaker 500 to shaker 1000? Possible?

Hello everyone, I was just wondering what the difference between the shaker 500 and 1000 setup, and if its possible to buy the other parts and get the 1000 shaker in my car?

I found some cables in the side of the trunk where the sub is placed in other cars, so its seems like the cables already are there, or it some other kind of cables maybe?

Or should I maybe go a totaly diffrent route if I want to get my system up a bit?

Btw, how much noise do you guys get from the interior when you play loud? Like squeeks and such? I get a little noise from my driver door that stops if I put my hand against it.
Its the middle part right where the exit handle is, if anyone have info about how to make an easy fix on this I would be very greatfull.

Thanks.

i personally would just do something aftermarket. you can do a jl stealth box which is clean and sounds plenty better then the shaker 1000, but its a little pricey. there are also some other custom boxes that you can get for mustangs.

ihave the shaker 500 and it rattles a little bit somewere on the door too.

It's probably possible.. But i doubt its already wired for the sub in the back. I've seen wires back there but none that would be used for a sub.you'd probably need the other 500 watt amp for it.Unless you got it from someone that took it out of their car it would beprobably cheaper to do a whole new aftermarket system..

I've been thinking about going all aftermarket.. I have a decent deck and 2 12" JL audios that I've had for about 7 years now.. But I'd like to upgrade everything to somethign nice.. then we are talking like $2,000 and I think i'd rather put that towards a supercharger instead

So what are the extra wires in the back for? Hook up an amp? Or just some wires that would be used if it was a higher end system?

I don't know what the wires are for but yeah it's a different head unit so you would just be replacing the whole thing anyway.

Get a sub. Aftermarket H/U's tend to cause broken windows on weekend nights

If you can find someone who upgraded from there 1000 to an aftermarket I think you would be ok with it otherwise I would defenatly go after market. I wanted to keep my shaker 500 so I added a four channel amp and a sub for the amp A couple of subs and new speakers. You can by somecrossovers to hook up to the back to send a signal 2 your amp/sub.
for rattles use some dynamat as needed.

good luck and enjoy your tunes whatever way you go!

I have the Shaker 1000 and I get some rattle inside the car also but not enough to notice when you turn it up almost all the way. I sounds pretty good.

But I agree with the idea of just going ahead and getting something aftermarket if you are going to go through the mess of changing it out.
