I'm going for the N/A power. I like the idea of all motor. Besides, when someone pulls up next to me and revs and I rev back, they won't here a blower. Just me blowing there doors off. The look on their faces in my mirror is priceless.

If I stayed N/A with this car, my goal would be obviously to hit the rwhp mark you guys are speaking of and make the car as light as possible.

With the right suspension trade outs and drive shaft replacement, then suspension add ons, and taking my spare out and putting in the flat/filler, the right lighter race wheels, I calculate from other threads in the past that you could bring the curb weight down from the stock car without altering the interior taking items out of the interior by about 80lbs.

That would be great to have a 360rwhp N/A 06' premium package Mustang GT that had a curb weight(full of gas) of only 3380lbs with 3:90 gears.

If you compare that to your typical F/I car weighing 3600 at 415rwhp 8lb tune with 3:55 gears, you actually have a close race I believe, and the N/A car is certainly more nimble in a roadrace. Erik

350whp N/A is possible but you're going to experience major pain and suffering. however it will be very satisfying. If you have $2.5k+ to put into heads/cams and a dyno tune then go for it..

I've never looked back on my run for 350+whp N/A. it's been depressing and it's been satisfying.

not sure if I wouldn't have just plopped a blower on top to begin with... its a learning experience for sure.

"IF" I had an S197 that weighed 3300 #'s with 360 NA HP I wouldn't be concerned with FI. lol. good point about the na car being more nimble though..

Rubrignitz, the most frustrating thing unless you have the car weighed properly, is that it's hard to get a consistent number on how much these cars weigh. I never received a weight on my original invoice, and the listed weights by ford and the magazines vary a good deal.

The 05' and 06's are a bit lighter, pre GT500 added welding, so my car as far as I can determine being a full premium package minus the Shaker 1000 sub-woofer option, would have weighed around 3485lbs curb weight(full of gas) delivered originally.

Others without the heavier drivers seat, larger wheels of that year weighed in at 3445 curb weight I believe. I'm simply saying before adding expensive horsepower additions, here are the facts for an 06' :

110-115lbs added/lost weight = 17HP (flywheel) approx.

Going to alum. Driveshaft 35-40lbs off
Lose spare/add flat kit 26lbs off
Lighter better srgs/shcks/strts 10-12lbs off
" " swaybars frnt/rear 12-14lbs off
" " LCR's left/right 12-14lbs off
lighter/wider wheels all 4 12lbs off =much less rotating mass
BMR K-member 15lbs off includes G-trac support
Watts link(replacing panhard bar, brace, box 9lbs off sheet metal boxing removed

Strut Tower Brace +9lbs added
Shock Tower brace +7lbs added
_______________
Total 120 lbs off

So a 06' standard could be lowered in weight to around 3325lbs, with every item directly contributing to better handling and driving performance.

Also, 2-peice high quality stock sized rotor upgrades with track pads and a 10lb Agent Fourty Seven brake cooling kit and direct replacement lower grill would not add much weight for the track. So in the end, we have a 110 loss of weight, with a much more killer car. Others will have to post how much getting to 360HP adds or minuses to the weight of the car. Anyone??? Thanks, Erik
