IMO....LT's as well as X-pipes can really make or break an exhaust sound. Mostly break.

The first problem I had was that it was very difficult to attach to my over-axle pipes because they have to fit inside of the Bassani X-pipe slip-fit joints.
After I got it installed, one of the exhaust hangers was contacting the transmission crossmember and vibrating really loudly. I couldn't get it bent away far enough because of the weird design of the hangers.
The sound was pretty good, but I get much the same sound from my catted prochamber, only it's deeper and has less of a tendancy to be raspy like an X-pipe.

BTW, that clip you posted has always been one of my favorite Mustang sound clips. I love the way that car sounds.
I really love this one too.

I used to thing Flowmaster was the best on New Edge stangs until I heard Bassani!
dude that link you put sounds like my car to a T...

just like you and howarmat said, the X is a little raspier i've noticed at higher rpms but it sure as hell turns heads. but on another note i bet the x pipe does play the big role in how it's gonna sound cause i dunno if he had the same mufflers

i think you mighta just had bad luck with yours... putting mine in wasn't a breeze but i didn't have the problems you had

not to brag but bassani rules !!!!

now if i can just find a way to fit on their LT headers without buying another X pipe i'll be rockin and people in china will be able to hear me

nelias7306, you have the Bassani catted X and Bassani street mufflers on your S197 GT?
Does it really sound a lot like that New Edge stang in this vid?

There is only one vid that I know of on youtube with stingers and the Bassani catted X.
That's the one that made me buy the catted X in the first place.
I just got really frustrated with it.
I don't know how you're supposed to get that X-pipe on without taking the mufflers off first. The tailpipes will only slide back so far with the mufflers on.

i guess that's why your install went that way then...

when i was installing i was putting new mufflers and a new x pipe at the same time so i took the mufflers off and the old h pipe and let the pipes hang on the axle for a little while and then put the x-pipe with cats on first ,then the mufflers. the old equipment was what was a PITA to get off, but the new equipment went on like butta...

i guess you gotta take the mufflers off to make install easier then

btw if this is the vid that you were talkin about this is what made me get them

I just out a set of street mufflers on my 07. I have Kooks L/T's with catted X. It sounds great. Hardly any drone, and it doesnt rattle your teeth.
