Get some clamps like this http://www.jegs.com/i/JEGS/555/30732/10002/-1 that is the only way I got my GTAs to seal. The GTAs aren't expanded deep enoughsothe mufflerdoesn't slip on very far, creating a bad seal.No matter how much I torqued them they leaked.
I don't know about this. Mine seemed to slip over the axle pipe at least just as far as the OE mufflers. I'll keep an eye on them.

Only issue with welding is that if you have them sealed up a full 360 degrees, there is no way you are getting them off unless you go in and cut the pipe. Not so good if you ever want to replace the mufflers or the over the axle pipes.
