Louvers and painting
Anyone here buy there side window louvers and paint them yourself? What paint did you use and how did it turn out? I have seen the black car spray paint at home depot but I wonder how close a match it is and how it might turn out... I have a black GT and want the louvers that are painted black. Where is the best place to buy from maybe even painted affordable?
i just got mine from american muscle, unpainted, i should've ordered them prepainted but wanted to save money. but now i will have someone paint them for me bc i am a lousy painter. my advise is get them prepainted unless you have experience w/ paint and prep.
I bought some SLP louvers and tried painting them myself. It's a pain in the azz without a dust free spray booth. Whenever you spray, it will pull any dust particles in the air and stick them right onto your louvers. You then have to remove the pieces of dust, hair, dirt, etc., and that will ruin the paint so you'll have to wait for it to dry, sand the area and respray. It's an endless cycle that will drive you nuts and make you curse and wanna break things. Needless to say, I gave up and now I have some perfectly good SLP louvers laying around that are painted, amateurishly, white.
